Your main responsibilities will oversee all aspects of agency volunteering, including volunteer recruitment, screening and orientation, onboarding, feedback, tracking, planning and budgeting. This position requires coordination of resources from multiple departments and at several levels in order to maintain sufficient base of volunteers for delivery of essential community services. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and; Bachelor's Degree plus four (4) years of Volunteer Management experience.
- Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or professional certification may be considered.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid Oregon driver license, insured vehicle available for use on the job, and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required.
- Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
- Successful registration with Child Care Division Criminal Background Registry and DHS Criminal Background Check
- Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
- Develop and implement volunteer project guidelines, policies and procedures, monitors feedback and outcomes, and cultivates and retains community partners and individuals in the community.
- Present opportunities to local groups, such as churches, schools and community to promote volunteerism with MWVCAA programs.
- Establish and maintain volunteer descriptions, protocols, background check processes in cooperation with programs and HR staff.
- Recruit and monitor volunteers, interns and practicum students successfully navigate Agency processes and volunteer opportunities.
- Establish and maintain volunteer database and schedules, in conjunction with programs.
- Work with development staff to connect to donor engagement and ongoing support.
- Work with marketing staff to create media and update communications, post updates on social media, and engages with the volunteers using various technologies.
- Conduct volunteer orientation and assures all volunteers are trained for events, projects assigned.
- Compile information for grant applications as needed. Prepares and submits reports to funding sources.
- Develop and monitors the volunteer budget with program and Administration.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's volunteer and Agency policies and applicable state and federal laws.
- Screening and onboarding volunteers; planning, assigning, addressing volunteer complaints and resolving problems, and escalating issues to program management as necessary.
- Ensure that communications and interactions with managers, staff, clients, Board Members, and community partners are consistently handled with respect, professionalism, inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work effectively with team members, management, Board Members and clients.
- Exercise judgment in determining priority of day-to-day job tasks, and key decisions.
- Utilize creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish tasks.
- Consistent punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Ability to manage frequent interruptions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not supervise Agency personnel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequent travel to and from various worksites and volunteer events.
- Close quarters, occasionally with various client populations such as children, youth, families, and individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and/or severe and persistent mental illness, and/or unpredictable behavior.
- Indoor and outdoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Occasional exposure to body fluids/biohazards, and garbage (such as saliva, vomit and urine).
