The Manager Sustaining PMO will report to the MedSurg R&D PMO and play a critical role in partnering with Cross-Functional Leadership to drive effective portfolio management and predictable project execution. This highly visible role will provide strategic leadership for building and executing program/project management capabilities for predictable execution of Solventum's product lifecycle management.

This position requires equal parts team leadership, cross-functional strategic planning, and disciplined program management. You will provide insights and recommendations to the Leadership Teams for budget, scope, and schedule decisions supporting strategic objectives.

How you will make an impact

The Mgr. Sustaining PMO will play a key leadership role in transforming and optimizing MedSurg PMO by leveraging your leadership, strategic acumen and project management expertise to drive organizational change and develop a best-in-class sustaining project management office.

You will develop and lead project engineers, project managers, and program managers overseeing released and commercial medical device products and enterprise programs. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Develop and mentor engineering and project management staff, building capability to lead initiatives ranging from small projects to complex, enterprisewide programs. Provide ongoing coaching, opportunities, and career development pathways.
  • Lead structured governance meetings and deliver clear, datadriven updates to senior business and functional leaders, covering progress, risks, budget, schedule, scope, and resource needs. Serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership by delivering clear, timely, and actionable updates on program performance, including financials, schedules, risks, and resource needs.
  • Foster a highperformance culture by guiding team members, identifying development needs, and strengthening organizational project and program management competencies. Support the professional development of engineering and project management personnel by identifying growth opportunities and strengthening project and program management competencies. Champion the growth of project and program management capabilities across the organization by creating meaningful development pathways and fostering a culture of learning. Empower staff, supporting career advancement, and cultivating an environment focused on excellence and accountability.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve consistent governance processes. Ensure transparent, timely communication of project and program status to leadership to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate the use of existing tools (Mircosoft Project Server, Accolade, PLM, etc and develop strategies to optimize the use of such tools to provide real-time leadership reporting to functional and business leadership of portfolio metrics
  • Incorporate problem solving and clear communication to executive staff.
  • Work with functional leaders to drive Resource Management planning,tracking, and leveraging estimating tasks and ability to work with project managers and functional staff to determine resource requirements to meet project and program goals.
  • Oversee resource planning, workload forecasting, and task estimation. Collaborate with project managers and functional leaders to align staffing with project and program objectives.
  • Contribute to the annual operating plan and lead longterm strategic planning efforts. Support business goals related to product lifecycle management, market expansion, capacity growth, quality and compliance improvements, and cost optimization. Develop systematic prioritization that considers the strategic and business goals to ensure annual planning support long-term business plan.
  • Participate in corporate initiatives to identify enhancements to existing tools and capabilities related to program and resource management.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one,Solventumrequires(at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a technical field is required AND Minimum of 10 years of experience in medical device development, engineering, operations, project management, or comparable roles within a regulated industry.

In addition to the above requirements, the following are alsorequired:

  • Three years of formal leadership experience or people management capacity guiding teams within a programdriven environment.
  • Experience communicating clearly and effectively, including regular communication with executive leadership.

Additionalqualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • An advanced degree such as an MBA is preferred.
  • PMP or ACP certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within one year of hire as a part of ongoing professional development.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Project Server, including implementation, or enterprise-level deployment, strongly preferred

Work location:

  • Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Eagan/San Antonio at least [3] days per week)
