The Manager, Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) is an execution-focused program management professional embedded in Hagerty's APEX program - a multi-horizon Duck Creek implementation that is reshaping how Hagerty underwrites, services, and scales its insurance business. This is a hands-on delivery role: you will own the day-to-day tracking, reporting, and coordination that keeps complex, cross-functional workstreams moving.

APEX is live and consequential. You will work within a structured governance model alongside Hagerty's EPMO leadership and an Accenture implementation partner following a two-in-the-box delivery model through the program's initial horizons, managing the details that program health depends on - accurate project plans, current RAID logs, timely status reporting, dependency tracking, and stakeholder materials that are always ready for the next conversation. You will be assigned to specific APEX workstreams and will be the person those teams rely on to stay organized, on track, and escalation ready.

This role reports to the VP of EPMO and operates within the governance framework being built in collaboration with Accenture. As Hagerty builds its Center of Excellence for Program and Project Management, this Manager will be an active participant in adopting and refining the standards and tools that become Hagerty's permanent operating model.

What you'll do

Workstream Execution and Tracking

  • Own project plans, milestone tracking, and delivery status for assigned APEX workstreams.
  • Maintain accurate schedules and proactively flag schedule risk before it becomes schedule slip.
  • Track cross-functional dependencies across Business, IT, and vendor workstreams; surface conflicts early.
  • Ensure the EPMO tools reflect current, accurate program state at all times so dashboards and reports are reliable.

Risk and Issue Management

  • Maintain and actively manage the RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) for assigned APEX workstreams.
  • Identify risks early and work with workstream leads and EPMO leadership to develop mitigation plans.
  • Escalate critical blockers through the appropriate governance channel in a timely manner; track resolution to closure.

Status Reporting and Stakeholder Materials

  • Prepare weekly and milestone-based status updates for assigned APEX workstreams, consolidatinginputs from multipleworkstreamleadsinto clear, accuratereporting.
  • Build materials that work at multiple levels - concise executive summaries for leadership audiences and detailed workstream updates for delivery teams.
  • Support the VP of EPMO in preparing steering committee and executive dashboard reporting.

Program Coordination

  • Facilitate workstream meetings, track actions and decisions, and ensure follow-through.
  • Partner with Business and IT stakeholders to understand priorities, capacity constraints, and emerging risks.
  • Support change control processes by documenting scope, schedule, or budget change requests and routing them through the appropriate approval process.
  • Partner with Business and IT to maintain governance documentation, decision logs, approvals, and supporting evidence to ensure complete, accurate, and timely records that support Internal Audit, SOX, regulatory, and external audit activities.
  • Contribute to the development and adoption of EPMO standards, templates, and tools as part of Hagerty's Center of Excellence build.

This might describe you

  • Proven program or project management experience, with at least some of that time spent on a large-scale technology implementation or business transformation in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • You are a natural organizer who creates clarity where there is noise - your project plans are current, your RAID logs are real, and your status reports actually reflect what's happening.
  • Demonstrated experience in business process analysis and operational improvement.
  • Experience working alongside or within a consulting-led delivery model where you were expected to build capabilities and take ownership over time. You know how to operate in a structured governance environment without losing your own judgment and continue to execute after the consulting engagement ends.
  • Strong communicator - you write clearly, run tight meetings, and can tailor a message for a workstream lead or a steering committee without being asked twice.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to stay focused on execution when the structure around you is still being built.
  • Familiarity with program management tooling (Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Smartsheet, or similar); you learn new tools quickly and use them consistently.
  • Insurance or financial services experience a plus, but not required.

Other things to note

  • This position is open to U.S. remote work. However, team members who reside within 20 miles of the Traverse City headquarters will follow a hybrid schedule, working from the office three days per week.
  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
