Homeless Shelter Site Monitor Requirements
  • Working in a 24/7 shelter environment. Shifts may include night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to perform regular security patrols.
  • Criminal background check and a drug test required (not including THC).
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
Job Duties
  • Control access to the shelter, checking the identification of individuals entering the facility
  • Enforce shelter rules and policies, including curfew and conduct guidelines.
  • Monitor the premises using surveillance cameras and perform regular security patrols.
  • Communicate effectively with the Case Manager(s) regarding guest issues
  • Address and resolve conflicts and disputes among shelter residents in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, security breaches, and fire alarms.
  • Maintain effective communication with shelter management and staff to report incidents and security concerns.
  • Offer assistance to guests with special needs or those in crisis.
  • Serve as a point of contact for law enforcement or emergency services if needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by agency.
Schedule
  •  Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, coverage for sick and/or vacationing staff.  
  • Guaranteed 24 hours per week.
Benefits
  • 40 hours paid vacation 1st year.
  • 100% paid medical insurance, 50% paid dental insurance.
  • $14.55/HR
