Job description

Astronics-PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements.

We are seeking a Program Manager to join our team and drive a complex Aerospace manufacturing program. In this role you will own the success of the assigned program by working cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, engineering, quality, and our customer. To be the most successful in this role you will be a proven leader, action-oriented, a natural problem solver with a high-level of commitment and get it done attitude.

You will have a passion for excellence, with a drive to take initiative and seek continuous improvements in line with our companies' values. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Own health of the program to support quality and delivery of products. Drive cross-functional execution of manufacturing program, aligning scope, schedule, cost & quality.

Develop and maintain reasonable technical understanding of assigned products. Primary point of contact for all aspects of a program. Advocating on customer needs while aligning with internal business goals.

Work closely with internal supply chain team as well as directly with suppliers to address any challenges and opportunities with materials. Plan and direct deliveries, supporting customer requests and issues, and managing budget/spending. Lead cross-functional teams, focused on delivering existing, new or upgrades to existing products.

Identify and coordinate process improvements and design improvements that reduce the cost. Develop and maintain relationships across the customer's program team, working closely to understand their business needs and interests Coordinates and hosts regular program tracking meetings with customer and internal stakeholders as well as senior leadership to ensure ongoing communication Support or lead customer approval of changes to products. Maintain strong understanding of contractual requirements and lead adherence to such agreements.

Manages schedule commitments and progress with internal and external customers. Proactively identify potential issues, assessing risks, and creating contingency plans to ensure on-time delivery Creates schedules independently for activities when warranted. May aggressively manage project teams to meet customer and internal schedule commitments Monitor and report production yield data and take proactive steps to address issues affecting product yield in operations or with suppliers.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field and 6-8 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) Experience in program management, operations, contracts, procurement, or Engineering considered as related experience Aerospace experience with exposure to AS9100 standards, highly desired Hands-on experience with an ERP/MRP system Demonstrated experience in negotiating with internal and external customers Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong data driven decision making skills High level of proficiency with MS office projects including MS Project Demonstrated experience managing schedules, budgets, and cross-functional execution in a production environment Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems Demonstrate strong judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
