Your Mission as Maintenance Director

As the Maintenance Director, you'll lead all aspects of building and grounds maintenance to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and team members. You'll oversee preventative maintenance programs, manage systems operations, and coordinate with outside vendors to ensure quality, compliance, and cost effectiveness.

Through your expertise and leadership, you'll uphold Legacy's mission to serve seniors with honor, faith, and integrity-creating an environment that feels as safe and cared-for as the people who call it home.


What You'll LeadBuilding and Grounds Maintenance
  • Ensure the residence and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing at all times.

  • Develop and oversee a preventative maintenance program to reduce downtime and preserve equipment life.

  • Conduct regular inspections of the building, systems, and grounds, promptly addressing areas in need of repair.

  • Respond quickly and courteously to all maintenance requests from residents, staff, and families.

  • Prepare apartments and common areas for resident move-ins and move-outs.

  • Assist with the setup and cleanup of community programs and special events.

  • Coordinate and supervise groundskeeping, lawn care, and snow removal services to ensure safety and curb appeal.

  • Partner with the Executive Director to manage outside vendor contracts for maintenance and repair services.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and safety checks.

Maintenance of Systems
  • Test and maintain fire protection systems according to code and inspection schedules.

  • Perform regular testing of resident security systems to ensure functionality and safety.

  • Oversee and maintain HVAC systems for comfort, efficiency, and code compliance.

  • Ensure all lighting systems are functioning properly and energy-efficient.

  • Monitor and maintain plumbing systems for consistent operation and regulatory compliance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and facility issues promptly.

  • Coordinate with vendors and inspectors to ensure all building systems meet or exceed required standards.

Leadership, Compliance, and Safety
  • Lead by example-promoting teamwork, professionalism, and servant leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSDS, and all safety and environmental regulations.

  • Maintain an organized and secure workshop and storage area for tools and supplies.

  • Oversee proper handling and labeling of hazardous materials.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and participate in emergency preparedness planning.

  • Train maintenance team members on safe work practices, equipment use, and emergency procedures.

  • Manage departmental budget, monitor expenses, and order supplies responsibly.
