) Job Title: Area Respiratory Operations Technician
Department: Respiratory Therapy - Multi-site
Reports To: Regional Director of Respiratory Services
Position Overview:
The Area Respiratory Operations Technician supports the Regional Director of Respiratory Services in
overseeing, monitoring, and enhancing respiratory rehabilitation programs across assigned facilities.
This role is responsible for operational, clinical, and educational activities to ensure high-quality
respiratory care and program compliance in multiple skilled nursing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Program Management:
  • Track respiratory programs daily using multiple EHR and computer systems.
  • Manage scheduling of respiratory therapy treatments, including weekends, and ensure staffing
    coverage.
  • Conduct daily reviews of new patients, including key respiratory indicators, medication use, and
    diagnostic data.
  • Complete order set audits, treatment evaluations, documentation, and care plan compliance
    checks.
  • Maintain accurate patient and facility listings for oxygen and respiratory devices.
  • Perform weekly audits of respiratory equipment, including oxygen concentrators, tanks, Airvo2,
    BiPAP, and CPAP devices.
  • Clinical Support & Communication:
  • Communicate patient respiratory needs, recommendations, and referrals to nursing and therapy
    staff.
  • Follow up on patient care and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Educate facility staff on proper use, maintenance, and replacement procedures for respiratory
    equipment.
  • Assist with program implementation and updates to ensure consistent clinical standards.
  • Staff Development & Recruitment:
  • Conduct onsite and virtual (Zoom) interviews for respiratory staff in assigned facilities.
  • Assist with orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training of new respiratory employees.
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding operational systems and clinical processes.
    Equipment & Inventory Management:
  • Assess and maintain inventory of respiratory equipment and devices.
  • Ensure nonfunctional equipment is removed and communicated during audits.
  • Promote efficient utilization of respiratory equipment to support patient care.
    Quality & Compliance:
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and program evaluation.
  • Ensure documentation, treatment, and equipment management comply with facility and
    regulatory standards.
  • Provide actionable feedback to the Regional Director regarding program performance and
    operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Strong operational and organizational skills with proficiency in EHR systems and computer
    applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
    and facility staff.
  • Ability to travel regularly to assigned facilities within the region.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for audits, reporting, and compliance monitoring.
