Job description

Job Description:
Saab Inc is searching for a Lead Field Implementation Manager to join our Product Installation Support team. We specialize in deploying complex air traffic control and other situational awareness systems in the US and throughout the world. From the initial program concept development and proposal to final completion and customer hand-over, you will be on the front lines of customer interface while also working in close contact with our internal engineering and production teams that design and build the product itself. This role requires a high level of leadership, strong attention to detail, customer service orientation, and hands-on involvement at the job site.
As an Implementation Manager at Saab, you will:
• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of system installations at customer sites.
• Serve as the primary on site liaison between the client, general contractor, subcontractors, and Saab's Project Management team.
• Conduct site surveys, gather customer requirements, and produce detailed site survey reports outlining installation considerations.
• Supervise all on site installation activities, including subcontractor crews, ensuring work meets quality standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
• Manage project timelines, adjust schedules based on site conditions, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Maintain daily site documentation, including progress logs, punch lists, and incident reports.
• Review site drawings, installation plans, and bills of material to ensure accuracy and alignment with project scope.
• Identify installation materials needed beyond the bill of materials and ensure tools, equipment, and resources are available before work begins.
• Develop subcontractor statements of work, bid packages, and support pre bid meetings, subcontract reviews, and award recommendations.
• Coordinate with internal teams-including Project Management, Engineering, and other Saab resources-to ensure successful installation outcomes.
• Participate in installation strategy development and assist with planning and estimating during proposal phases.
• Identify code related activities requiring professional engineer review or stamped designs.
• Conduct site walkthroughs with clients or general contractors at project completion to verify all work meets specifications.
• Ensure all installations meet company quality standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations
• Resolve on site issues efficiently while maintaining professionalism and keeping the project on track.
• Travel to project locations across the U.S., representing Saab professionally and positively.
• Prioritize excellent customer service, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and effective issue resolution.
• Perform minor installation tasks when needed to support project success.
Compensation Range: $115,700 - $150,500
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering principle (Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering) or other technical degree.
• 6+ years construction management or technical/mechanical experience in field installation.
• 2+ years of experience supervising field crews or subcontractors
• Experience reading blueprints, shop drawings, and installation plans
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Visio, Project, PowerPoint).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills, attention to detail while tracking multiple interdependent functions, and ability to follow-up action items and requests.
• Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, possess a strong work ethic and constant desire to learn. Possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple installations simultaneously
• Professional demeanor and appearance; able to interface with clients and general contractors confidently
• Ability to motivate and lead field crews, holding them accountable for performance and behavior
• Capable of troubleshooting technical or logistical challenges independently
• Comfortable working at heights, using ladders and lifts as required
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing site conditions
• Willingness to travel internationally and domestic up to 25% in support of program and business development efforts. (3 - 21 consecutive days on-site at a time) as well as overnight stays and weekend work depending on project timelines
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Experience with U.S. Government Projects (both Operations and Engineering) programs is a plus.
• Experience with Atlassian products like JIRA, SharePoint and Confluence, preferred.

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
