Be You.
The Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Senior Program Coordinator to support the Pre-Licensure Program (PLP). In this role, you will serve as a key operational partner, ensuring the successful administration of one of the School of Nursing's flagship academic programs. You will work closely with program leadership, faculty, students, and university partners to coordinate program operations, student support services, admissions activities, accreditation efforts, and strategic initiatives that contribute to student success and program excellence.
This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys balancing project coordination, relationship management, data analysis, event planning, and administrative leadership in a fast-paced academic environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Three years of relevant experience in an administrative, program coordination, or management capacity.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education, academic affairs, healthcare education, or a university environment.
- Knowledge of Duke University systems, policies, and procedures.
- Experience supporting academic programs, accreditation activities, or student success initiatives.
- Experience with data management, reporting, and database systems.
- Experience coordinating events, meetings, and cross-functional projects.
Other Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and report complex information accurately.
- Strong project management and budget monitoring skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
Be Bold.
As the Senior Program Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the operational, academic, and strategic success of the Pre-Licensure Program by:
- Leading program operations and coordination by managing daily office activities, maintaining program calendars, coordinating classroom and exam scheduling, serving as a primary liaison for students, faculty, staff, and university partners, and ensuring effective program communications.
- Supporting program leadership and governance through complex administrative support to the Associate Dean of Professional Nursing, Program Chair, Academic Success Program Manager, and program committees, including scheduling, correspondence management, meeting coordination, and maintenance of program resources and policies.
- Enhancing the student experience by coordinating advising processes, faculty advisor and peer mentor assignments, tracking student progression and milestones, supporting student success initiatives, and assisting students with program-related questions and concerns.
- Managing data, reporting, and accreditation activities by maintaining program databases, preparing annual and regulatory reports, supporting accreditation self-studies and site visits, collecting program outcome data, and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinating events, budgets, and special projects by planning orientations, recognition ceremonies, faculty and student events, monitoring program expenditures, supporting budget preparation, processing financial transactions, and leading operational improvement projects that advance program goals.
Choose Duke.
At the Duke University School of Nursing, you'll join a nationally recognized institution committed to advancing health, transforming nursing education, and preparing future nursing leaders. Our faculty, staff, and students are united by a shared commitment to excellence, innovation, discovery, and service.
As part of the Pre-Licensure Program team, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the education and development of future nurses while collaborating with a wide network of faculty, academic leaders, healthcare partners, and university professionals. Your work will play an important role in supporting student success, accreditation excellence, and the continued growth of one of the nation's leading schools of nursing.
