University Laboratory School
Athletic Events and Operations Coordinator
The Athletic Events and Operations Coordinator supports the Athletic Director in the administration and daily operation of the University Laboratory School Athletic Department. This position oversees athletic operations, event management, facility coordination, equipment management, and departmental administration while ensuring a positive experience for student-athletes, coaches, families, and spectators. The Coordinator serves as a key liaison among coaches, school administrators, facility personnel, and community stakeholders and helps advance the mission of University Laboratory School and Louisiana State University through excellence in athletics.
Working Conditions
• Regular evening and weekend work required
• Attendance at athletic events, meetings, and special functions required
• Ability to lift and move athletic equipment and work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Job Responsibilities:
15% Athletic Department Administration
• Assist the Athletic Director with the daily management of athletic programs, facilities, and game-day operations
• Coordinate departmental calendars, schedules, and administrative processes
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, records, inventories, and departmental documentation
• Evaluate operational effectiveness and recommend improvements to enhance departmental performance
25% Event and Game-Day Management
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee home athletic contests and special events
• Manage event logistics, including facility setup and breakdown, ticketing, concessions, security, officials, medical coverage, and staffing
• Serve as the game administrator for assigned athletic events
• Ensure a safe, organized, and positive environment for participants and spectators
25% Facilities and Equipment Management
• Oversee equipment inventory, purchasing, distribution, maintenance, and replacement
• Collaborate with facilities and maintenance personnel to address operational and facility needs
• Assist with long-term planning for facility improvements and capital projects
15% Budget and Financial Administration
• Monitor operational expenditures and purchasing activities
• Assist with financial reporting, budget tracking, and analysis
• Oversee ticketing operations and event sales platforms
• Support fundraising initiatives, sponsorship fulfillment, and revenue-generating activities
5% Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain positive relationships with coaches, parents, alumni, boosters, sponsors, and community partners
• Provide operational support and resources to coaches and athletic programs
• Promote effective communication and collaboration across all athletic department constituents
15% Leadership Expectations
• Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, accountability, and commitment to student-athlete success
• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Support the educational mission of University Laboratory School through athletics

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Three to five years of experience in athletic administration, event management, coaching, education, or a related field
• Knowledge of LHSAA rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements preferred
• Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, ticketing platforms, and athletic management software
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree
