Internal Medicine Residency Program Director opening in Indiana- Full time- South Bend, INA growing health system in **Elkhart, Indiana** is seeking a **Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician** to serve as the **inaugural Program Director for a new Internal Medicine Residency Program**. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced physician educator to build a **10-10-10 community-based residency program from the ground up**, establishing its curriculum, culture, faculty, and educational strategy. The position offers approximately **80% protected administrative and educational time with 20% clinical practice**, allowing the Program Director to focus heavily on developing a premier graduate medical education program.**Position Highlights*** Serve as the **founding Program Director** of a new Internal Medicine Residency.* Build and launch a **10-resident-per-year, 30-resident program**.* system.**Educational Responsibilities*** Design and implement a comprehensive **Internal Medicine curriculum**.* Develop high-quality inpatient and ambulatory educational experiences.* Promote evidence-based medicine, clinical excellence, professionalism, and lifelong learning.* Create resident mentorship, coaching, career-development, and wellness programs.* Support and encourage resident and faculty **scholarly activity and research**.* Establish competency-based assessment and feedback systems.* Foster an educational environment centered on teamwork, accountability, inclusion, and patient-centered care.**Faculty & Resident Development*** Recruit, mentor, and retain high-quality teaching faculty.* Develop faculty education programs focused on teaching, feedback, assessment, and mentorship.* Lead resident recruitment and selection.* Establish a supportive resident culture emphasizing clinical excellence and professional development.* Promote resident leadership within the hospital, health system, and surrounding community.* Collaborate with specialists, hospital leadership, ambulatory practices, and other clinical departments to create strong educational experiences.**Qualifications*** MD or DO from an accredited medical school.* **Board Certification in Internal Medicine through the ABIM**.* Minimum of **3 years of educational and/or administrative experience within an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program**.* Eligible for unrestricted Indiana medical licensure.* Demonstrated excellence in clinical medicine, teaching, mentorship, and physician leadership.* Strong knowledge of **ACGME accreditation requirements and competency-based medical education**.* Experience with curriculum development, faculty development, and residency administration preferred.* Previous experience as a **Program Director, Associate Program Director, Core Faculty member, or Clerkship Director** strongly preferred.**Hospital & Health System
