Madison County School District is seeking an individual for the position of Elementary Curriculum Director
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month contract; salary and work year to be determined by the Board
EVALUATION: Performance of job responsibilities will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the Evaluation of Professional Personnel and in accordance with state guidelines.
JOB GOAL: To provide leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district's P-5 instructional program
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Clear, valid renewable Georgia certification in Educational Leadership
  2. Minimum of a Master's degree
  3. Minimum of five years teaching experience
  4. Minimum of five years administrative experience
  5. Preferred experience as a building level administrator
  6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may deem acceptable and appropriate

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Coordinate and guide the implementation of the state-mandated curriculum; Pre-K through grade 5.
  2. Coordinate and deliver professional development for Pre-K through grade 5.
  3. Coordinate the K-12 state-mandated testing program.
  4. Support the coordination of a K-12 MTSS framework.
  5. Coordinate the Pre-K program.
  6. Coordinate the K-12 media services program.
  7. Coordinate the K-5 Gifted program.
  8. Assist with the completion of the GDOE Consolidated Application as related to job responsibilities.
  9. Facilitate systemwide teacher meetings throughout the year that focus on curriculum and instruction initiatives.
  10. Participate in the annual system budget planning process in areas related to job responsibilities.
  11. Review and evaluate the results of systemwide assessments and other evaluative measures used by the schools to identify school improvement needs at both the school and district levels.
  12. Work jointly with the directors of other district programs on school improvement/academic achievement efforts that intersect with job responsibilities.
  13. Promote and support the educational objectives and district strategic goals.
  14. Represent the district as a member of elementary-related committees/advisory groups/activities at Northeast Georgia RESA.
  15. Attend workshops/trainings/conferences related to PK-5 curriculum and instruction in order to be up-to-date with curriculum programs/trends/state and federal mandates.
  16. Establish a rapport with local, Northeast Georgia RESA, Bright from the Start, and Georgia Department of Education staff members to enhance a cooperative effort between personnel and the district.
  17. Perform other such duties and responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.
