About the Role

Direct, design and execute key creative and content deliverables in support of marketing and advertising campaigns. Provide creative oversight and input into design direction, copywriting and brand tone and voice. Work closely with peers on the Marketing team, legal and compliance, and agency partners in the development of effective marketing materials that are deployed across multiple channels.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with senior marketing leadership and channel marketing peers in the creation of marketing, content, brand and advertising materials that support all marketing acquisition, customer retention and corporate initiatives for the organization.
  • Responsible for the design, development and direction of effective digital ads, creative concepts and campaigns, direct mail pieces and outbound email campaigns utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud or similar software programs.
  • Design and develop creative campaigns from mock-up to finished product, with an emphasis on digital deployment.
  • Provide direction on design and copywriting direction to subordinates and/or creative agency partners, to ensure campaign consistency and effectiveness in developing digital ads, direct mail creative, video and audio content. Responsible for all final output from that team.
  • Act as steward of the organization, ensuring consistency and adherence to core brand, tone and voice guidelines across marketing executions.
  • Manage the creative production process, to ensure that materials are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee a creative content calendar and maintain a production schedule, to ensure creative output is delivered on time.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams, to ensure creative content adheres to regulatory standards.
  • Sets KPIs with the Marketing Analytics Team in support of effective creative concept and multivariate testing.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains new staff. Provides constructive and timely performance reviews. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Creative mindset with solid graphic/visual design and effective copywriting skills for advertising and marketing campaigns.
  • Effectively develop and pitch creative campaign concepts to senior leaders and peers on the marketing team. Provide, ingest and receive critical feedback in a professional and positive manner.
  • Deep understanding of branding, tone and voice and able to deploy consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across multiple campaign iterations.
  • Effectively direct subordinates and creative agency partners in executing campaigns and content, meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills. Must be able to quickly and effectively develop content that can be deployed across various channels (direct mail, digital, email, video).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to collaborate effectively with senior staff across multiple teams and functions, including product, acquisition, senior executives, legal and compliance teams.
  • Deep understanding of key business issues and strategies, and able to synthesize complex information to be distilled as effective creative concepts that can be deployed across multiple marketing channels.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, copywriting or graphic design required.
  • 10+ years' experience working in a creative director role within an advertising or digital agency, corporate, or internal marketing environment with an emphasis on design, copywriting or content creation.
  • Experience utilizing professional design platforms such as Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
  • Experience in video production preferred.
  • Financial or credit card experience preferred.
