The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Director to support the overall mission of the organization.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Employee Relations, Talent Management, Credentialing Support, New Manager Training, Career Pathway Development, Student Relations, and retention programs.

*Pay Range:  $29.73 - $43.11 per hour

*It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case and on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. What you’ll get to do in this role:

Assist in the Employee Relations process which may include investigations and employee and manager coaching

Assist in New Manager Training and the development of materials for training sessions

Handles employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Participate in new hire orientation and employee recognition programs, employee incentive programs and more

Assist in administration of the student scholarships and awards programs, tuition reimbursement and assist in developing Career Pathways with local and regional colleges and universities as well as local, state and national grant sources 

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Maintains compliance with federal & state employment laws and regulations.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

You’re an excellent fit, if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar degree preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP,  CHRM-CSP, CHR, or CHHR preferred
  • minimum of 2 years experience in human resources
  • customer service experience preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • good time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
