Summary:
The Manager, Physician Integration is responsible for being a liaison between the Hospital and the Medical Staff as well as community providers and referring facilities, with the goal of cultivating relationships and enhancing referral patterns. This individual will address Medical Staff problems/concerns as they arise at facility as well as assist in investigating and solving problems that referring physicians encounter. Accountable for follow-up on issue resolutions and coordination of other departments' follow-up initiatives. Must demonstrate a complete understanding of the principles of business development and their application on behalf of the assigned facility/market and is responsible for promoting facility product line and services to physicians/providers, while managing relationships and networking opportunities between Specialists and potential referral sources to ensure confident referral relationships to the right Specialists/facilities. He/She will continually seek new market opportunities by maintaining knowledge of existing services and specialties offered by Ballad Health, consistently gathering intel on services and specialties offered by our partners/competitors, new health care developments and act as a catalyst for the adoption of new developments where necessary.
This individual will plan and coordinate visits with physicians/providers, practice administrators, nursing, service line leaders and other various key team members; seeking new market opportunities at facility and promoting those opportunities to potential referral sources for growth and development. Facilitates service recovery efforts as needed, ensuring obstacles to business growth and retention are identified and resolved, working with appropriate internal stakeholders, tracking resolution, and effectively communicating back to referral sources. Works closely with Director of Outreach/Business Development and specific facility CEO/leadership team in these endeavors aligning system goals with facility needs. Diligent in logging activities and efforts in the CRM platform provided by the organization. Assists as needed in recruitment of new physicians to assigned community and BHMA practice and participates in strategic planning and needs analysis for recruitment of providers. The Manager will conduct onboarding introductions for newly recruited providers joining medical staff and/or joining BHMA to raise awareness of new provider/specialties available while also orienting the new provider for successful entry into the market. The Manager will work closely with Marketing/Communications for requested/necessary marketing pieces and efforts to ensure milestones are met and recognized. In addition, this individual will plan CME programs for physicians and implement them in assigned county and surrounding markets.
The Manager will coordinate and implement Medical Office Manager Meetings and oversees Post Acute Care Luncheons. The Manager will assist in developing the Strategic Plan for assigned market strategy along with key business strategies, will review leakage data on a quarterly basis and develop/implement strategy responding to outmigration metrics. This individual will plan, coordinate, and implement dinners, entertainment, and social functions for faculty. In addition, the Manager will assist in obtaining and coordinating physician speakers for marketing related events including radio, TV spots, civic clubs, and health fairs. The Manager will assist VPs and CEOs in the selection and implementation of joint venture opportunities between area physicians and the hospital or Ballad Health businesses. The Manager will coordinate bi-annual physician satisfaction survey and coordinates action planning related to the survey. The manager is frequently required to participate in early morning, evening and occasional weekend activities/meetings.
This role requires the ability to travel by personal automobile throughout the service area on a regular basis; therefore, Manager must have valid drivers license in the appropriate state and dependable transportation. Must carry current personal collision and liability insurance on any vehicle driven for company purposes.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Marketing, or the equivalent in education or hands on work experience. A Masters Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing or the equivalent preferred. Must have excellent communications, marketing, planning and organizational skills. Four to Five years of successful experience in physician relations or related field such as sales, marketing or Business development. Program development and management/supervision experience preferred. Proficient in the use of computers particularly spreadsheet, databases and experience with a CRM platform. Applicant should also have a working knowledge of healthcare operations, experience and ability to analyze physician volume and market share data, payer mix, principles and practices of accounting, finance and information systems, contracts, and hospital and physician reimbursement models.
