The Director of Finance will report directly into the Defense Business Line VP of Finance and will lead all financial and accounting practices & controllership fundamentals for the site and manufacturing environment. This position will be responsible for partnering with the functional leadership and across the business in order to provide financial guidance and co-lead site priorities such that the site will deliver optimal results to achieve strategic, financial and operational objectives across the business. In addition, will also lead all aspects of the site's financial strategy, FP&A, forecasting (development of short-range and long-term commits), planning/budget processes, scenario planning, and financials control in accordance with set policies and procedures, including accounting principles and government compliance.
Job Responsibilities
  • Direct and develop finance and accounting teams, to provide all employees opportunity for growth and development
  • Leading all aspects of manufacturing site's financial strategy.
  • Lead a team of finance and accounting professionals
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and control of finance systems and records for accurate reporting and recording of financial information.
  • Establish finance and accounting procedures and controls to ensure transactions are properly recorded and to safeguard company assets.
  • Establish and maintain internal finance and accounting controls to verify the accuracy in computations, proper support in classification and recording of all transactions.
  • Provide strong leadership to operating teams to ensure established finance controls are well-understood and followed.
  • Provide finance and accounting policy interpretation and guidance to the accounting and operating teams.
  • Includes the preparation of finance and accounting position papers.
  • Control the general ledger to ensure that all invoices, cash receipts, invoice adjustments and general ledger transactions are properly documented and recorded.
  • Ensure Disclosure Statement accurately reflects accounting practices and ensures compliance with Disclosure Statement.
  • Leads financial internal and external audits, DCAA, DCMA, FACTS reviews, and balance sheet reviews for all applicable sites.
  • Develop solutions to complex financial business issues encountered within the businesses.
  • Direct special financial projects comprised of cross functional teams as needed.
  • Ensure business unit compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide key decision makers financial support and analysis to make informed decision.
  • Manage, educate, and mentor staff / team of professionals.
  • Create an atmosphere where people are engaged, rewarded for progress, and share a strong sense of ownership of the organization.
  • Lead the finance monthly closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Perform other finance and accounting duties as required.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related fields of study.
  • 10 years of experience in finance and/or accounting for Manufacturing, Aerospace, Government Defense, or related industries,
  • 5 years of direct management experience of finance and accounting department
  • Able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Site and/or plant-level financial leadership experience.
  • Aerospace experience.
  • Government accounting experience.
  • Ability to manage cross functional teams.
