General Purpose

The Course-based Masters Program Coordinator is the academic program advisor for students registered in course-based masters programs. The position involves graduate program coordination; liaising with industry, academic and government partners, marketing and communications for student recruitment; and coordinating admissions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies and implement as required
  • Support prospective students through the application process
  • Advise in-program students through their program progression (course options, research projects and advisors, career preparation and pathways, graduation paperwork, etc.) and monitor student performance
  • Recruit and liaise with industry and other partners to develop and implement student placement projects for internships and practical placements
  • Coordinate research projects and facilitate the process of finding research placements for students
  • Market the programs through websites, recruitment materials, social media and other venues
  • Monitor program progress and evaluate data for insights into program improvements
  • Act as the central graduate program contact, liaising with OGPS relating to the course calendar and institutional policies and procedures
  • Network and coordinate with industry and other external partners
  • Participate on the admissions, curriculum, and steering committees
  • Coordinate professional development workshops for students
  • Liaise with other course-based Masters programs across campus
  • Evaluate transcripts and make admissions recommendations
  • Organize program events and support room bookings, etc.

  • Undergraduate degree in Biology, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience in program management, or recruitment & marketing
