About this Position

Coordinate all aspects of graduate student academic progress including advising graduate students (degree seeking and nondegree seeking) and graduate programs on coursework, Plans of Study, academic policies and procedures, university and college regulations; review graduate student academic satisfactory progress at the end of each semester, and notify graduate students of unsatisfactory academic progress. Advise individual students regarding academic advancement issues, time-to-degree progress and graduation processes. Counsel graduate faculty and graduate program coordinators about rules and procedures related to graduate student matriculation. Advise graduate students on the thesis/dissertation processes for masters and doctoral students. Clear graduate students for graduation (half of the ~5,000 graduate students).

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Matriculation & Prog Spclt I-Bachelor's degree, no experience required.

    Matriculation & Prog Spclt II-Bachelor's degree, two years of experience in a related position.

    Sr Matriculation & Prog Spclt I-Bachelor's degree, four years of experience in a related position.

    Sr Matriculation & Prog Spclt II-Master's degree, five years of experience directly related to Matriculation & Program Specialist duties.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's
  • One year of direct experience.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Familiarity with Slate, Banner, and graduate student Plans of Study.
