Job description
Job Summary
Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Alumni Program Coordinator (APC) is responsible for administrative, logistical, operational, and co-curricular support for programs in EBCAO's outreach portfolio. This work includes EBCAO's established outreach programs, such as the Transfer Scholars Initiative or the Lydia's Scholars Program, as well as partnerships with external organizations with aligned missions, like the Warrior-Scholar Project and the Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America.
Program coordination includes event planning; developing, implementing, and delivering workshops and programming; program evaluation and assessment; supply acquisition; communication with students, faculty, staff, and external partners; basic financial tasks like expense report reconciliation; and general reception office work. The APC will liaise with campus offices, like Conference and Event Services, Catering, Facilities, and others to ensure that external groups and organizations are appropriately hosted on campus. The APC will also support student participants by connecting them with resources and providing mentorship. In some cases, the APC may supervise student workers. This job requires occasional night and weekend commitments, particularly during the busy summer months.
This is a full-time, 24-month term position.
ResponsibilitiesEducational Outreach Partnerships
The APC will work with the Deputy Director to transition multiple external partnerships from the Office of the Provost to EBCAO, establish and maintain relationships with partner organizations' staff, and develop the calendar for programming needs and other obligations. The APC will work closely with campus partners to ensure that external organizations are hosted appropriately on campus, helping to facilitate housing, food, room reservations, etc.
With the Deputy Director, the APC will work to help coordinate programming and workshops focused on college access and success to the wide variety of external pre-college access programs hosted at Princeton.
The APC works with Deputy Director and other EBCAO staff to provide programming and mentorship, facilitate partner organizations' work on campus, and assess program impact as EBCAO reviews the sustainability of existing partnerships.
Outreach and Convenings
The APC will support EBCAO's efforts to share knowledge about college access and success to a broader range of students nationwide. As part of this effort, the APC, under the direction of the Deputy Director, will seek to develop relationships with school districts, college access organizations, and other relevant partners. Through these relationships, the APC will develop opportunities to share information through educational access workshops and programming to students, families, and communities.
Drawing on the expertise of Princeton University staff and faculty, the APC will develop scalable, web-based resources on college access and success. They will create opportunities to distribute these resources to relevant audiences and will evaluate their efficacy in spreading knowledge about college access.
Under the direction of the Deputy Director, the APC will help coordinate convenings that bring together educators to share best practices for supporting first-generation, lower-income, non-traditional, transfer, and veteran students in their pursuit and navigation of higher education and professional pathways. Coordination work will range from content development to logistical organization.
EBCAO Outreach Program Support
The Alumni Program Coordinator will support in the development and delivery of EBCAO's outreach programming, with an emphasis on the Transfer Scholars Initiative. Duties include supporting the Deputy Director in recruitment, application management and review, enrollment, development and delivery of summer and academic year programming for TSI participants, support for transfer application boot camps, providing one-on-one mentorship to students, and creating new group structures for ongoing application advising. As needed, the APC will provide program support to the Lydia's Scholars Program, Aspiring Scholars and Professionals, and other initiatives in support of external students. The APC also works with program staff and EBCAO communication staff to highlight outreach work and increase program visibility.
Broader EBCAO Program Support
The APC will support the development and delivery of other EBCAO programs, particularly as they relate to or intersect with programs for external students. For instance, the Alumni Program Coordinator may help develop academic year programming and engagement for participants in EBCAO outreach programs, including virtual events and events hosted at the participants' home campuses. In the lead up to the summer launch of ASAP, the position will support the Director in recruiting and selecting applicants, creating a programmatic calendar, and engaging campus partners. The APC will also take on other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director.
