About This Role

As our Afterschool Program Assistant, you are a vital spark in our extended day experience. This isn't just supervision; it's where the end of the school day meets inspired engagement. You will support the Program Administrator in providing a safe, enriching sanctuary where students can tackle homework, explore new hobbies, and build lasting friendships in a technology-focused, interactive setting.


What You'll Do
  • Student Mentorship: Directly supervise groups of students during snack, play, and enrichment, ensuring every child feels safe, seen, and stimulated.
  • Activity Facilitation: Assist in leading hands-on STEM projects, arts, and recreational activities that ignite curiosity and align with our philosophy of excellence.
  • Positive Guidance: Monitor student behavior and implement gentle, positive management strategies that foster independence and a sense of belonging.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Partner with the Afterschool Administrator and fellow staff to maintain a cohesive, organized, and inviting program space that parents trust.
  • Growth Support: Assist with homework sessions and "lightbulb moments" in learning, tailoring your support to meet individual student needs.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage smooth transitions, accurate check-in/dismissal procedures, and maintain the highest standards of health and safety.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: High school diploma or GED required (Associate’s degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred)

Schedule:

  • Shift: Consistent afternoon coverage during afterschool hours, Monday through Friday
