Summary:

The Medical Assistant I role functions under the clinical supervision of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider in a primary care practice. The Medical Assistant I assists in the preparation and delivery of patient care as directed by the providers and other licensed clinical personnel. Clinical duties are skillfully and consistently performed per established clinical policy and procedure.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required

  • Required: Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification

  • Minimum 1-year experience in outpatient pediatric practice or equivalent family practice outpatient preferred (as determined by department), or immediately post-externship in a pediatrics practice or clinic setting

  • National certification preferred

  • CPR - BLS required
