Purpose of this position The purpose of this position is to treat and document care for residents with impaired ability to perform at an independent level due to disease process under the supervision of an occupational therapist; participate in the interdisciplinary team meetings as required. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities โ€ข Follow physicians' orders for resident care and follow directions of the occupational therapist. โ€ข Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of function possible within the confines of his/her physical abilities. โ€ข Provide appropriate treatment, preventative measures and adaptive equipment to prevent decline in residents' function. โ€ข Maintain timely and accurate resident reports as required by federal, state and local regulatory agencies and third-party payers. โ€ข Provide adaptive equipment and preventative measures to prevent decline in residents' function. โ€ข Observe infection control procedures. โ€ข Be responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision. โ€ข Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers. โ€ข Observe all facility policies and procedures. โ€ข Observe all facility safety policies and procedures. โ€ข Observe guidelines in the employees' handbook. โ€ข Follow facility Residents' Rights policies. โ€ข Adhere to Corporate Compliance Program Code of Conduct and policies and procedures. โ€ข Attend Corporate Compliance Program in servicing as required. โ€ข Comply with facility policies and procedures against discrimination and sexual harassment. โ€ข Protect the privacy of resident Protected Health Information. โ€ข Protect the confidentiality and security of all resident and facility information. โ€ข Come to work in clean, neat attire and consistently present a professional appearance. โ€ข Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality. โ€ข Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner โ€ข Preform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor. โ€ข Preform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner. โ€ข Support and respect other employees. โ€ข All other duties as assigned Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential physical and intellectual duty as identified.
