Job description

Position Title:ย ย  ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Part โ€“Time Program Aide (15 hours per week)

Reports To:ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  MAAP Program Supervisor

Job Summary

The Program Aide is responsible for holistic support of the Mentoring And Advocacy Program (MAAP). The main areas of support are: Developing and maintaining systems to support optimal program operations, resource/referral development, trip planning, petty cash oversight and database input and oversight. ย The Program Aide must work closely with leadership and program staff in order to understand emerging program issues and develop plans to address program functioning.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Create systems and protocols that assist with optimal program functioning.
  2. Provide resources and referral information for high risk inner city youth ages 12-21.
  3. Develop resources for referral in the following main areas: recreation, education, employment, substance abuse treatment, community service and pro-social activities, as well as any other area of need or interest of program participants.
  4. Contribute to ideas for group trips and be responsible for all planning logistics.
  5. Manage petty cash distribution and be responsible for all reconciliation paperwork.
  6. Create systems for data retrieval and participate in systems data entry for ACS/OCFS.
  7. Assist program staff with document retrieval and chart creation and maintenance.
  8. Conduct regular internal program and chart audits.
  9. Work closely with leadership and program staff to continue to support new and emerging issues as they arise.

Skills/Knowledge Required

  1. A minimum of two years of college/Associates Degree or other equivalent training.
  2. A minimum of two years of work experience in a non-profit youth or social service agency.
  3. A working knowledge of resources in Brooklyn, and NYC as a whole.
  4. Technology Proficient
  5. Highly resourceful, with the ability to use online tools and internet searches to identify and access relevant information and resources
  6. Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks and advance projects independently
  7. Good communication skills, both oral and written.ย 
  8. Familiarity with administrative protocols involving dress, demeanor, record keeping, reporting, confidentiality, and use of supplies and equipment.

Compensation: $28.84 Per Hourย 

Location: 2588 Atlantic Avenue Brooklyn NY, 11207

Hours:ย 15 hours a week 3 hours 5 days a week 10:00AM - 1:00PM or 11AM-2:00PM Monday - Friday. The 2ndย option would be 3 days a week at 5 hours a day.ย
