SUMMARY
The Social Media and Content Manager is responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and managing Tamarack Resort's comprehensive content strategy across all digital platforms, with a strong emphasis on social media and visual storytelling. This pivotal role will drive brand awareness, engage our diverse audience, and convert digital interactions into bookings and resort visits through compelling written, photographic, and videographic content. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled creative storyteller, photographer, videographer, and editor, with a deep understanding of current social media trends, multimedia production, analytics, and meticulous digital asset management, all within a dynamic, fast-paced resort environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and execute comprehensive social media and visual content strategies aligned with overall marketing goals for all resort seasons (e.g., ski, golf, lake, club, real estate).
• Plan, direct, and execute high-quality photography and videography shoots, capturing the essence of resort amenities, guest experiences, events, and the surrounding natural beauty (Drone operation as needed).
• Create, curate, and manage engaging written, visual, and video content for all social media channels (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn TikTok, etc).
• Create, curate, and manage engaging visual, and video content for all Tamarack owned channels (e.g., In-House TV Loop, On-Site Screens, etc).
• Manage all aspects of pre-production (storyboarding, shot lists, location scouting, talent coordination) and post-production (editing, color grading, sound design, motion graphics).
• Serve as the primary custodian of all digital visual assets, optimizing and maintaining a robust Digital Asset Management (DAM) system for efficient storage, tagging, retrieval, and distribution.
• Ensure all visual content adheres strictly to brand guidelines, quality standards, and legal requirements (e.g., model releases, copyright, fair housing act).
• Develop comprehensive content schedule and publish daily posts, stories, reels, and other content formats, ensuring consistent brand voice and aesthetic.
• Monitor social media channels for trends, mentions, and competitor activity; provide insights and recommendations.
• Actively engage with our online community, respond to comments and messages, and foster positive guest relations.
• Manage boosted social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, audience targeting, and performance monitoring.
• Analyze social media performance data, generate regular reports, and identify key learnings to optimize future strategies.
• Collaborate closely with the Marketing, Sales, Guest Services, and Operations teams to ensure cohesive messaging and timely communication.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging social media platforms, visual trends, production techniques, equipment advancements, AI advancement, and best practices in digital asset management.
• Oversee and manage external photographers, videographers, and other visual content vendors as needed.
• Assist in managing influencer relations and user-generated content initiatives.
• Help manage third-party ski, golf, tourism, and event websites to ensure they are up to date with Tamarack assets as needed.
• Manage visual content budgets and timelines effectively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Photography, Film Production, Digital Media, Visual Arts, or a related field.
• 3+ years of proven professional experience managing social media for a brand including photography/videography, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse visual storytelling capabilities.
• Expert proficiency with professional photography and videography equipment (cameras, lenses, lighting, audio gear) and post-production software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects).
• Demonstrable experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems, including asset tagging, metadata management, and user permissions.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, their respective audiences, best practices for content creation, visual storytelling principles, composition, and color theory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for compelling storytelling and brand voice.
• Proficiency with social media management tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Sprout Social).
• Ability to conceptualize creative ideas and translate them into compelling visual narratives.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and seasonal resort environment.
• A passion for the outdoors, recreation, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Flexible schedule as holiday, weekend, and evening work hours will be required at times.
• Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability required to capture on-mountain content.
• Drone pilot license a plus (or at least some drone operation knowledge and experience).
