While both roles involve working with trees outdoors, Professional Tree Work generally refers to the broader category of tree-related tasks, including removal and maintenance, often performed by crews. Both roles are essential in tree care, but arborists typically have more advanced training and credentials.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

In the field of professional tree work, high earnings of $500,000 or more annually are rare and typically associated with business owners or highly specialized consultants rather than employees. In forestry, the highest paid roles are often forest managers, consulting arborists, or specialized environmental consultants, with salaries increasing for those with advanced certifications and extensive experience. These positions typically require strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and sometimes advanced degrees or certifications such as Certified Forester or ISA Certified Arborist.

How much money does an arborist make?

An arborist's salary varies based on experience, certifications, and location, but typically ranges from $35,000 to $70,000 annually. Certified arborists with specialized skills and equipment knowledge tend to earn higher wages, especially in urban or high-demand areas.

  • Daily climbing to heights of between 10-to-150 feet using a variety of climbing systems including a combination of SRT, DRT, and DdRT

  • Operating our trucks and equipment in a safe manner
  • Overseeing the grinding of material, raking, blowing and collecting leaves; disposing of debris
  • Participating and/or in routine safety meetings
