Job description

Tree Climber / Aerial Lift Operator

******3 years of experience minimum*****

We’re looking for an experienced Tree Climber / Aerial Lift Operator to join our team.

Our company specializes in professional tree removal, pruning, and stump grinding. Because we utilize aerial lifts whenever possible, climbing is not required on every job. However, we are looking for someone who is comfortable operating an aerial lift and has the climbing skills necessary when a tree cannot be safely or efficiently reached with a lift.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate aerial lifts and other tree-care equipment
  • Climb trees when necessary using proper climbing and rigging techniques
  • Safely remove hazardous and difficult trees
  • Perform proper pruning according to accepted tree-care practices
  • Evaluate trees and identify potential hazards before and during work
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and answer questions about the work being performed
  • Take responsibility for the safety of the crew, customers, and surrounding property
  • Properly plan and execute tree removals, pruning, and rigging operations
  • Protect homes, landscaping, vehicles, and other property from damage
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site
  • Communicate effectively with ground crew members throughout the job
  • Inspect and properly care for climbing gear, rigging equipment, lifts, and other equipment
  • Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices

What We're Looking For

  • Previous professional tree-care experience
  • Experience operating aerial lifts
  • Ability to safely climb trees when required
  • Knowledge of proper pruning techniques
  • Experience with hazardous tree removal and rigging
  • Strong understanding of job-site safety
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers
  • Dependable, responsible, and able to work as part of a team
  • Good judgment and the ability to recognize hazards before they become problems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to obtain Class A CDL

What We Value

We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing tree work the right way. Safety, quality, professionalism, and taking care of the customer's property are extremely important to us.

This is not a position where you're simply operating a lift. We want someone who can take ownership of the job, communicate with the homeowner, help direct the crew, recognize hazards, and make good decisions in the field.

If you're an experienced tree worker who is comfortable in an aerial lift and can climb when needed, we'd like to hear from you.
