Job description

JUNIOR HUMINT INSTRUCTOR Location: Washington, D.C. | Type: Full-Time | Clearance: TS/SCI - CI Poly Preferred Overview DarkStar Intelligence is seeking a Junior HUMINT Instructor to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) by developing and delivering training across three core disciplines: HUMINT Collection Management, HUMINT Targeting, and HUMINT Enabling. This position plays a vital role in preparing Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) personnel to conduct complex HUMINT operations aligned with national security priorities. The instructor will work collaboratively with DIA subject matter experts to ensure instruction meets current operational, policy, and analytical standards. This full-time, on-site position requires U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance. Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, and deliver instruction across HUMINT disciplines including Collection Management, Targeting, and Enabling tradecraft.
* Provide classroom, seminar, and scenario-based training consistent with DIA HUMINT curriculum objectives.
* Ensure instructional materials remain current with HUMINT operational practices, legal authorities, and DoD/IC policy changes.
* Instruct students on the application of HUMINT methodologies, analytical processes, and operational tradecraft under Title 10 and Title 50 authorities.
* Deliver training on HUMINT Collection Management principles, including mission authorities, dissemination control, reporting standards, and quality assurance.
* Provide instruction on HUMINT Targeting analysis - including pattern-of-life, social network, and human factors analysis - and its operational application.
* Lead training on HUMINT Enabling topics, including operational support functions, collection requirements management, and interagency coordination.
* Administer and evaluate student performance using established course standards and provide feedback to improve learning outcomes.
* Collaborate with DIA guest lecturers and staff to ensure cohesive, high-quality instruction across all training modules. Minimum Qualifications * Clearance: Active TS/SCI; Counterintelligence Polygraph (Preferred).
* Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of applied experience in HUMINT operations, including one or more of the following areas: Collection Management, Targeting, or HUMINT Enabling.
* Training: Graduate of a recognized IC-level HUMINT course such as: * HUMINT Collection Operations Manager Course (HCOM) * HUMINT Collection Management Officer (HCMO) or HUMINT Collection Managers Course (HCMC) * Operational HUMINT Targeting Course (OHTC) * Defense Overt Source Operations Course (DOSOC) * Defense Strategic Debriefing Course (DSDC) * Source Operations Course (SOC) * Advanced Source Operations Course (ASOC), or equivalent IC/DoD school * Proficiency in DoD HUMINT and CI policies, legal authorities, functional processes, and related IT systems. Desired Qualifications * Instructional or mentoring experience within a HUMINT or CI operational training environment.
* Previous experience supporting DIA, a Combatant Command J2X, or other IC HUMINT organization.
* Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to adapt instructional methods for diverse audiences.
* Experience conducting training needs assessments, course development, and evaluation of student performance. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $95,000 - $108,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market data.
