Job description

Airswift is seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Design Engineer to support a nuclear plant in Seneca, SC for a 3-year contract.
Responsibilities:
  • Workers at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision.
  • Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with even greater independence.
  • They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressively complex and varied.
  • Responsible for the design of pipe supports with loads provided by the pipe stress engineering group, evaluation of concrete wall core bores, and design of concrete anchorage.
  • Individual will also support field walkdowns and interface with craft to support installation activities.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent technical degree with relevant experience.
  • 10+ years as a design engineer with ASIC structural steel and ACI 318 concrete design experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility (training, clearance, and fitness for duty requirements).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to research complex technical issues, evaluate alternatives, and present sound engineering recommendations.
  • Software Experience: GT STRUDL, ANSYS, or similar structural design software experience.
  • Design Code Experience: ASIC, ACI 318, ASCE

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations and modification design in nuclear facilities.
  • MSCE.
