Job description

Sandvik Coromant in Westminster, SC is looking for a

RELIABILITY ENGINEER

ROLE SUMMARY:

A Sandvik Coromant Reliability Engineer plays a key role in improving the uptime and reliability of equipment related to manufacturing, infrastructure, and site utilities. The role will utilize engineering analysis, predictive tools, strategy development, and continuous improvement of systems to ensure safety, minimize failures, promote machine efficiency, and reduce overall maintenance cost.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive (PM), predictive (PdM), and reliability-centered maintenance programs for production equipment, facilities, and utility systems.
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally to establish and maintain asset criticality rankings that drive prioritization of reliability initiatives and resource allocation.
  • Implement condition monitoring (thermography, oil analysis, vibration analysis, ultrasound, etc.) to support condition-based maintenance (CBM) programs and equipment analysis where possible.
  • Analyze equipment failure data, work order history, condition monitoring data, etc. using RCA and FMEA tools and data analysis/trending software to identify improvement opportunities, support data-driven decisions, and reduce maintenance cost.
  • Lead crossfunctional teams to identify and eliminate equipment "bad actors" through equipment improvements, optimization of PM/PdM/CBM strategies, enhanced operator and maintenance training, and spare parts optimization.
  • Provide technical support for the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment to ensure optimal reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance, including creation and maintenance of supporting documentation and databases.
  • Administer and continuously improve the CMMS, including development of SOPs, maintenance plans, spare parts lists, technical documentation, and performance reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

CANDIDATE'S PROFILE:

The Reliability Engineer is an organized, self-motivated professional and quick learner with an innovative mindset and strong teamwork skills. The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and accountability.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred.
  • 3 or more years of Maintenance / Reliability experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical knowledge of rotating equipment, CNC, robotics, process and utility equipment preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS, RCA tools, RCM and FMEA and ability to analyze and present data using Power BI, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams.
  • This position requires current authorization to work in the United States. Sandvik cannot provide employment-based visa sponsorship for this role, now or in the future.
  • This role is based on site in Westminster; SC. Remote or international work arrangements are not available. Relocation assistance is not provided.
