Company Description

Blue Duck Resources, a nationwide land management and staffing company, is located in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Blue Duck Team consists of experienced professionals including landmen, title abstractors, attorneys, analysts, and land managers who specialize in energy land management.


Role Description

This is a contract hybrid role for a Title Abstractor at Blue Duck Resources. The Title Abstractor will be responsible for daily tasks related to title abstracting, courthouse indexes, mapping property descriptions, drafting chain of title runsheets & flowcharts, and property conveyance analysis.


Location

Reasonable driving distance to Morgantown or Pittsburgh general area is REQUIRED for this position. The position is predominately remote through online records. Partial onsite is required at the subject courthouse(s) due to historical records, estate files, etc. unavailable through online records.

Qualifications

·      5+ Years Experience in mineral title abstracting

·      Knowledge of mineral title conveyances/severance

·      Understanding of leasehold estate (WI, ORRI, wellbore WI/ORRI)

·      Familiarity with ODNR, DEP, etc. well map viewers

·      Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

·      Ability to work independently and in a team setting

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·      Proficiency in Adobe DC Pro, Microsoft Office, Net Deed Plotter (or other programs)

·      Ability to prepare deed plot overlays on current tax maps to identify lands described in deed descriptions

·      Bachelor's degree, law degree, CPL/RPL/RL are all strongly preferred
