Your mission, roles and responsibilities
The Productivity Purchasing Manager is to coach and lead a team of Productivity Buyers to develop and implement commodity strategies, define the supplier panel, and monitor performance to consistently improve QCD results. This includes identifying and executing productivity and strategic projects to deliver or exceed financial objectives for each plant.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver purchasing budget, update forecast, and report monthly savings activities
  • Monitor purchasing performance and support buyers for the detailed Portfolio for VA/VE, MoB and resourcing activity
  • Participate or lead strategic supplier management reviews
  • Review and secure, with Plant controlling the Purchasing Performance reporting: PI, P&L results according to Group Policies
  • Participate or lead monthly Purchasing performance reviews with internal stakeholders
  • Monitor strategic supplier QCD performance and Support execution of risk mitigation plan defined by commodity.
  • Serve as interface between department and Operations or Commercial Business Unit
  • Review and approve purchase orders within delegation of authority responsibility
  • Accountable for the series purchasing performance of the division
  • Prioritize and align resourcing and Make or Buy activities according operation's priorities and commodity guidance, support execution
  • Support transfer/resourcing/re-localization activities with supplier
  • Monitor and support execution of all productivity actions (int/ext VAVE) through cross functional teamwork
  • Define priorities for internal and external workshops to be done according to division need and commodity strategy
  • Contribute to identification and implementation of productivity actions for cost reduction in coordination with Commodity teams
  • Monitor productivity performance for supplier perimeter through cross-functional teamwork in plants and present productivity plans to plant management boards
  • Support escalation on supplier charge backs (QSS)
  • Prepare for start of production and lead transfer meetings with Program Buyers at take-over
  • Lead negotiations for Engineering Change Requests and product productivity in close relationship with commodities
  • Manage purchasing ICB compliance at plant level
  • Conduct value creation analysis (logistics, operations, quality)
  • Monitor price discrepancies and payment issues
  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site
