Job description

FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD SHIFT AVAILABLE


This position is responsible for working in at least one (1) production area to ensure customer requirements are met. This person will also follow all safety procedures and assist fellow co-workers as needed. This person will work with moderate supervision and will receive most directions from the Shift Leader or Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES will include the following:
Additional duties are described in the Quality System Procedures Manual, Work Instructions, and/or Job Training Checklist as applicable. Other duties may be assigned as required to fulfill the objectives of the department and the Company.
Scope
General cleaning removing all the debris and powder that has built up around the processing machines, floor and on items around the facility
Removing discarded material from the internal floor drains so the washdown water can flow properly in the drains
Using pneumatic air tools to chisel years of built-up paint and resins that has built up over the years
Cleaning of the machines i.e., grime using solvent cleaners and scrapers and power tools to prep ready for painting again challenging in this climate
Painting of machines using rollers and brushes etc., also floor markings to be carried and supporting the 5S process with housekeeping activities
Changing of Filters to ensure proper air flow to dust collector and air handling units.
Here are the Basic Skills Required:
Knowledge of basic safety practices and proper PPE usage
Ability to follow work instructions, procedures, and supervisor direction (Read in English)
Basic understanding of production processes and equipment operation
Ability to maintain clean and organized work areas (5S/housekeeping)
Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks (cleaning, scraping, lifting)
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
Ability to identify and report equipment, product, or safety issues
Effective communication skills, especially during shift handovers (Speak and understand English)
Teamwork mindset and willingness to assist co-workers and maintenance
Ability to work with moderate supervision and stay on task
Awareness of environmental requirements (dust control, waste handling)
Basic problem recognition and escalation skills
Reliability, accountability, and adherence to company policies
Must be able to lift 55lbs
Forklift experience is preferred

Responsibilities:
Maintains clean, safe work areas and minimizes material spillage
Strives to achieve all production and quality goals.
Assists maintenance when directed by Shift Leader.
Communicates with all employees, particularly those from a proceeding/following shift to ensure everyone understands the status of products, equipment, quality, etc.
Follows all Company policies, practices, and procedures.
Immediately alerts Shift Leader when a problem (equipment, product, personnel issue) is encountered.
Empties process dust collectors, dust collectors and central vacuum systems and ensure area stays in compliance with environmental permits
Cleans equipment between products to ensure there is no cross contamination from product to product.
