We have a great client that is looking for a Production Manager in Strasburg, VA!!
 
Position Summary:  
The Production Manager will be responsible for leading all production operations at our recycling plant, ensuring safety, operational efficiency, and consistent achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs). This role will drive team performance, enforce accountability, and maintain a strong leadership presence on the production floor. This position will be based onsite at our Strasburg, VA plant and will report directly to the Plant Manager. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage production teams to ensure safe, efficient operations 
  • Manage daily production activities to achieve production targets of output, waste, cost control and machine utilization 
  • Maintain strong leadership and floor presence 
  • Ensure process procedures are in place and current for all production processes to drive consistency and promote collaboration to achieve an engaged workforce 
  • Drive safety culture and compliance with safety protocols/environmental regulations/labor laws at all times 
  • Track, monitor and improve KPIs 
  • Analyze data for operational improvements 
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Coordinate schedules, staffing, and resources 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and resolve production issues quickly 
  • Identify quality issues, ensure investigation is completed thoroughly/promptly and corrective action is taken 
  • Lead team development and engagement and address any performance issues 
  • Actively participate in the management team which determines priorities, resolves issues and plans for the development of the recycling plant 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related manufacturing or management discipline (such as mechanical or industrial engineering or business management) 
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in plant leadership role 
  • Exceptional safety and performance track record 
  • Strong KPI management and continuous improvement experience 
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills with team-oriented, collaborative demeanor 
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing operational plans to improve efficiency 
  • Strong analytical skills with high degree of attention to detail 
  • Possesses strong written & verbal communications with all levels of management, time management, and interpersonal skills 
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage complex/changing priorities 
  • Demonstrated ability to make tough business and management decisions in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result-driven, team-oriented environment 
  • Personally driven and motivates others to excel 
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) 
  • Physically capable and available to work weekends, public holidays, and evenings as needed
