About the Opportunity
A recycling plant in Strasburg, Virginia is seeking a Production Manager to lead daily production operations, drive safety and accountability, and ensure the team consistently meets key performance indicators.
This role is ideal for a hands-on plant leader who can maintain a strong floor presence, manage production teams, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing or recycling environment.
The Production Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager and play a key role in improving output, cost control, waste reduction, machine utilization, team performance, and overall operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do
● Lead and manage production teams to ensure safe, efficient daily operations
● Oversee production activities to meet targets for output, waste, cost control, and machine utilization
● Maintain a strong leadership presence on the production floor
● Ensure production procedures are current, consistent, and followed across all processes
● Drive safety culture and compliance with safety, environmental, and labor requirements
● Track, monitor, and improve KPIs across production operations
● Analyze production data to identify operational improvements
● Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant performance
● Coordinate schedules, staffing, and resources to support production goals
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues quickly
● Identify quality issues, ensure proper investigation, and drive corrective action
● Lead team development, employee engagement, and performance accountability
● Participate in management team planning, priority setting, and plant development
What You Bring
● Bachelor’s degree in a related manufacturing or management discipline preferred
● 3+ years of relevant plant leadership experience
● Strong safety and performance track record
● Experience managing KPIs and driving continuous improvement
● Strong problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills
● Proven ability to develop and implement operational plans that improve efficiency
● Strong attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of management
● Ability to make tough business and people decisions in a fast-paced environment
● Collaborative, team-oriented leadership style
● Ability to build respect, trust, and accountability with production teams
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
● Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
