Job description

Job Title: QA Inspector
Department: Safety and Quality
Smmary/Job Description
Conduct Quality Assurance audits of company products and services assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Consult with management to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems. Function as an information source to employees and various company departments when special and critical quality issues occur. This position description/summary reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Confirm that shop and ship audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained.
• Determine overall production product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests.
• Resolve major quality problems at shop production facilities and onsite locations.
• Educate and instruct shop and ship personnel in recommended quality control testing, equipment sanitation and general sanitation and housekeeping practices. Confirm these procedures are being maintained.
• Consult with production management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and productivity.
• Discuss production evaluation with production management, make appropriate recommendations and set timetable for improvement and corrections.
• Function as an information source for employees and other departments when critical quality issues arise.
• Prepare production evaluation reports and submit them to Manager, Quality Assurance Services.
• Assist in development of special department projects and work in conjunction with Manager.
• Accept responsibility of training and preparing new employees for this position.
• Performing internal audits.
• Addressing non-conformities from previous internal and external audits.
• Conducting a Management Review of the Quality System.
• Following-up on and closing pending Preventive and Corrective Action Requests.
• Insuring that organizational systems and training is in place.
• Ensuring that documentation and design controls are appropriate for organization.
• Administering document control and configuration management system.
• Overseeing established calibration and testing program.
• Assisting the management team and provide QA support as necessary.
Education/Experience
• At least 5 years of work experience in Quality Assurance, should be combined with a demonstrated track-record of accomplishments as a Quality Assurance Technician.
• High school diploma or (GED)
• Experience with Quality System rules, regulations, including planning and implementation is very important.
• Oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities.
• Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment is necessary.
• Working knowledge of PC-based computing experience (word processing-Word, spreadsheet-Excel, presentation- PowerPoint) is needed.
