Job description

Production Floor Lead 

We are hiring an experienced Production Floor Lead to oversee day-to-day production floor activities and help ensure products meet customer quality and production requirements.

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supporting Line Leads and production employees, monitoring product quality, coordinating production activities, and providing training on production processes, safety, and GMP standards.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and team player who can lead by example, work effectively with Quality and Plant Management, and keep production running safely, efficiently, and accurately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Line Leads and production employees to ensure the production floor operates efficiently
  • Support daily production goals, quality standards, and customer requirements
  • Inspect finished products regularly to ensure quality specifications are met
  • Conduct product inspections at least hourly or more frequently for complex or critical jobs
  • Understand production rates and monitor line performance
  • Ensure work packets and production documentation are completed accurately and on time
  • Train new Line Leads on production processes, safety procedures, GMPs, and company policies
  • Assist Line Leads with training and developing production employees
  • Serve as a resource for Line Leads and production staff when questions or issues arise
  • Work closely with the Quality Department to identify and resolve production or quality concerns
  • Communicate production needs, issues, and results to Plant Management
  • Serve as a backup to the Production Supervisor when needed
  • Maintain a safe and productive work environment
  • Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Perform computer functions and data entry related to production operations
  • Use warehouse and production management systems to process information and materials
  • Plan ahead for production needs within the assigned area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ year of warehouse, production, manufacturing, or related experience
  • Previous lead, team lead, or production leadership experience preferred
  • Experience training or coaching employees preferred
  • Understanding of quality standards and inspection procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize production needs
  • Ability to read and interpret written and verbal instructions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Comfortable working with computers and production systems
  • Ability to work effectively with Quality, Production, and Plant Management
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
  • Professional attitude and ability to lead by example
