Position Summary

Production Manager is accountable for production quality, correct process, safety, daily preventive maintenance by machines, cost control, efficiency, scheduling, and training for all levels to assure constant improvement and development. Works collaboratively with the Process Engineer and other managers to make certain that employees are properly trained in specific machine operations.

Responsibilities
  • Managing People: Provides direction and gains compliance; takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities; makes self available to subordinates; provides regular performance feedback; develops subordinates’ skills and encourages growth.
  • Production Management: Determines workflows and staffing requirements; ensures equipment capability meets demand; coordinates flow of materials; adjusts scheduling to maintain efficiency; meets production and delivery schedules.
  • Resource Management: Manages time effectively; strives to contain costs and reduce waste; finds ways to conserve resources; overcomes resource constraints.
  • Production Control: Oversees hiring and training of production associates; manages daily production reporting for accuracy; controls spending to budgeted levels; audits QA, GMP, Scrap, HFI, and production methods; verifies cycle times, process sheets, and downtime logs.
  • Team Leadership: Fosters team cooperation; defines team roles and responsibilities; supports group problem solving; ensures progress towards goals; acknowledges team accomplishments; engages in Continuous Improvement Process; identifies and develops CIP projects based on key business needs; understands and acts on metrics.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, which includes plant supervision, quality control, maintenance, and production management.
  • Must know and follow all GMP, ASI, IMS, ISO, SQF procedures.
  • Must be able to work safely and follow safety rules and JSA procedures; identify and report violations and unsafe conditions; wear protective clothing such as hair net, uniform, steel‑toe shoes, gloves, and earplugs; respond effectively in emergency situations; follow all department procedures and directives.
  • Team player with demonstrated team‑building skills; experience in Nissei, Aoki, Sidel, or Husky operations with technical processing skills; good computer and administration skills.
  • Authority to make decisions in the absence of the Plant Manager.
