Summary:
The Production Floater is responsible for supporting multiple stages of the ceramics manufacturing process, from raw material handling through final quality control and shipment preparation.
This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work across mixing, extrusion, drying, cutting, firing, packaging, and material movement operations. Candidates must be safety-focused, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a physically active production environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintain a strong commitment to safety at all times
Oversee production processes from raw materials through final quality inspection
Produce various product types based on daily production schedules
Balance mixing, extrusion, drying, cutting, and firing processes to meet output goals
Track key materials and consumables to ensure uninterrupted production
Troubleshoot quality or production issues with engineering and management
Complete required production and quality documentation
Perform equipment start-up, shutdown, and cleanout procedures
Adjust processing parameters to meet product specifications
Store raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods properly
Operate forklift to move pallets, totes, and materials
Operate equipment at elevated heights (ladders/platforms as needed)
Pack finished goods and load/unload trucks as required
Maintain clean and organized work areas
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Manufacturing experience preferred
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to stand, bend, reach, push, and perform repetitive tasks
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
Forklift experience preferred
