This newly created Production Designer role reflects both momentum and intention. The position exists to meet current demand and to build the kind of depth that keeps a team strong over time.

This is a technical production role, not a conceptual design position. The right candidate brings precision, a sharp eye for regulatory and brand compliance, and the confidence to work hands-on with mechanical files and client-submitted artwork from day one. Training on client-specific compliance requirements is provided. Excellence here is not a slogan; it is the standard, and individual effort is always in service of the team.

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Contract, full-time, 40 hours/week, minimum 90 days with strong potential to extend

Location: Onsite, Sheboygan, WI, five days/week

Compensation: $26-$33/hr. as a W2 employee of C2, commensurate with experience

Job Description

The Production Designer works within an established, highly experienced team producing packaging for major national retailers. The work is file-intensive and compliance-driven, requiring someone who brings accuracy, speed, and genuine comfort with technical production workflows.

The team operates in open pod/cubicle seating (they're friendly and chatty), moves fast, and communicates in shorthand built from years of working together. Many colleagues have 10 to 20+ years of tenure. The right candidate is ready to immerse quickly, ask smart questions, and keep pace from day one.

Responsibilities:

• Execute technical production work using Adobe Illustrator, including preparation and revision of engineer-provided mechanical files that have been converted to Illustrator via plugin
• Work from mechanicals and client-submitted artwork to produce accurate, compliant, production-ready packaging files
• Conduct art reviews for client-provided artwork and files, identifying errors, inconsistencies, or compliance gaps prior to production
• Apply regulatory and compliance requirements to packaging artwork; training on client-specific standards provided
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering, project managers, and the broader creative team to ensure timely, accurate file delivery
• Maintain organized file structures and revision histories for a high-volume project environment
• Adapt quickly, ask smart questions, and take hands-on responsibility for outcomes

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; this tool is at the center of the day-to-day workflow
• Background in production design, print production, or packaging; agency, in-house, or manufacturing environments all considered
• Strong attention to detail and a track record of accuracy in technically demanding, file-heavy workflows
• Ability to learn quickly and apply new standards and processes without heavy hand-holding
• Comfortable being immersed quickly in a team that moves fast, communicates in shorthand, and includes colleagues with 10 to 20+ years of tenure
• Comfortable working onsite and contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented culture

Nice to Have:

• Experience with packaging mechanicals and/or print vendor file requirements
• Prior packaging design experience
