Job description

Do you have an interest in growing your Engineering Career? If so, we have the position for you! Timpte is looking for a Product Designer based in office at our NEW Lincoln, NE Facility. The Product Designer will support Product Engineering through new aftermarket product design, component updates, special option creation, installation instructions, and test documentation, component testing and data collection, bill of material creation, drawing updates and detailing, and all documentation required to support new and existing product lines.

Pay for this position is $28-$35/hour depending on experience + Monthly Bonus!

This is a full-time in office position. Candidates must live within a reasonable daily drive from our facility to be considered for this position.

Essential Functions

• Design new aftermarket products and develop supporting documentation.

• Create and enter Bills of Material into ERP systems.

• Complete ECRs and ECNs to document and release design changes.

• Develop design improvements focused on cost reduction and component quality and reliability.

• Produce detailed drawings and documentation to support project completion.

• Research and design special options based on requests from Sales and Customer Service.

• Apply FEA tools to improve the quality and reliability of new and existing designs.

• Support warranty investigations as assigned by the Product Engineering Manager.

• Support Engineering activities as directed by the Product Engineering Manager and Senior Designers.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.


Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications

• Must possess an Associate Degree in Engineering, Design, or Drafting.

• Experience with Rhino and MPanel is preferred but not required.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; including Word, Excel, and operating software.

• Working knowledge of CAD and 3D modeling software.

• Work with basic measuring tools, calipers, tape measure, scientific calculator.
