Job description

Job Responsibilities & Requirements
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure customer orders are manufactured and shipped on time. Maintains production schedules, monitors inventory levels, coordinates material availability, and works closely with manufacturing, customer service, purchasing, and logistics to support efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
WORK SCHEDULE: Regular onsite attendance is required to support manufacturing operations and cross-functional collaboration. Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs. Attendance during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential function of the position, including arriving on time, being present as scheduled, and being ready to begin work at the start of the shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Create and maintain production schedules for manufacturing operations utilizing ERP/MRP systems.
  • Schedule customer orders based on production capacity, material availability, lead times, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate production priorities across manufacturing processes to support on-time delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, and purchased components to support production requirements.
  • Review customer demand, forecast requirements, and production capacity to establish accurate lead times and delivery commitments.
  • Communicate daily with manufacturing, purchasing, customer service, quality, and shipping teams regarding order status, production constraints, and schedule changes.
  • Identify and resolve material shortages, capacity constraints, and scheduling conflicts that could impact customer deliveries.
  • Participate in inventory management activities including cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and year-end inventory processes.
  • Analyze production performance, inventory trends, and customer demand to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Generate and maintain reports related to production schedules, inventory levels, customer orders, and manufacturing performance metrics.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes by coordinating production planning activities and inventory transitions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree; or 1-4 years related experience and/or training in production planning, scheduling, inventory control, manufacturing operations, or supply chain functions in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues. Read and interpret documents such as sales orders, production schedules, shipping documents, etc. Write routine reports and correspondence. Developed strong communication, problem solving, and human relation skills.
Mathematical Skills:
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Able to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and to draw / interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Computer Skills:
Strong skills and knowledge of Internet software and MS Software (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP/MRP systems.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing planning concepts including MRP, capacity planning, inventory control, and production scheduling.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to analyze production data and make recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the associates may be occasionally exposed to the following: moving mechanical parts, moving product parts, vibration, moving forklifts, coolants, noise levels requiring hearing protection. Occasional exposure to environment; heat and humidity, cold, wet conditions and outside weather conditions. Generally working in an office environment.
