Job description

Our mission is to safely produce and distribute the best value and the highest quality engineered stainless steel coil and sheet, specialty alloy strip, foil, and wire products and to deliver those products on-time to customers around the world.
Production Control's primary responsibility is to ensure that customer orders and program stock are produced timely and efficiently, in strict adherence to the highest quality standards, while optimizing inventory utilization, and consistently improving on-time delivery performance.
Essential Functions:
  • Generate/monitor work orders based on sales order due dates, production lead times, and capacity.
  • Apply inventory to orders in a manner that limits additional remnant inventory, utilizes aging inventory, and maximizes inventory turns.
  • Works cooperatively with Supply Chain and Commercial team to achieve the collective goals of attaining 90% on-time delivery performance, managing the board directives for inventory levels, and meeting or exceeding customer and industry-mandated quality products.
  • Works cooperatively with the Production team to understand and communicate plant goals and objectives, acting as a liaison between the production floor and the sales desk.
  • Works with the department director and management teams to create and improve existing KPI reports using PowerBI to monitor progress and highlight areas of opportunity within scope of Production Control.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Must be comfortable learning legacy terminal systems.
  • Demonstrates an aptitude for data analysis with expert proficiency in PowerBI (including report development)
  • High proficiency in Excel and Access strongly preferred.
  • Requires collaborative and team-oriented with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Requires strong leadership and partnership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Digital literacy and systems knowledge required.
  • 10 or more years of Production Control (or comparable) experience.

  • Bachelor degree or work-experience equivalent required
