Job description

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and optimize methods, equipment, facilities, and labor to ensure efficient use of resources and meet production goals
  • Evaluate capacity, processes, and products; recommend and implement improvements to support operational effectiveness
  • Assess the impact of process changes on budgets; develop labor standards and maintain accurate performance and cost data
  • Develop shop schedules and capacity plans; manage layout planning and implementation of manufacturing processes
  • Present performance data to manufacturing leadership; collaborate with cross-functional teams and tooling to align resources
  • Apply technical principles independently within established guidelines, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2-4 years of  Manufacturing experience
  • Experience with shop floor planning, including build plan and sequenced manufacturing schedules
  • Proficient in using MRP systems and managing project tasks independently across multiple workflows
  • Skilled in facilitating meetings and presenting data clearly to various stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred

  • 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Aerospace or production control experience strongly preferred

  • Proficient in SAP and other systems; tech-savvy with strong skills in Microsoft suite

  • Experience developing labor hour and overtime plans
