Job description

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. 


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and implement methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel and optimization of product flow.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, implements optimized product flow.
  • Assists with providing time standards to the shop floor as well as standard work for operations and processes.
  • Does capacity analysis for tool and equipment utilization.
  • Support shop with shop floor performance metrics.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience organizing a matrix for day-to-day build plan for a shop
  • Experience efficiently facilitating meetings
  • Experience using an MRP system
  • Ability to present data in a clear and concise manner 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to schedule in a sequenced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to run own project tasks and to understand the workflow from shop-to-shop
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • 1+ year of experience in an analyst role
  • Aerospace experience
  • Experience using SAP
  • Experience using Microsoft Project
  • Experience with production control
  • Experience creating and maintaining metrics
  • Experience establishing plans around hours and overtime
