Job description

Combined Metals is a premier North American processor and specialty strip and wire distributor built through 50 years of growth and acquisition. Combined Metals is North America's largest independent processor and distributor of specialty strips and wire. Combined Metals has nine service centers supporting over 3,000 customers in the Aerospace, Defense, Nuclear, Medical, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Electrification, Automotive, and Consumer industries. Decades of quality and reliability have made Combined Metalsâ„¢ a chosen source in performance applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Promote a strong safety culture and follow all plant safety policies. 
  • Operate and adjust slitters to process metal coils per specifications. 
  • Inspect material during processing to ensure quality standards. 
  • Identify, document, and properly label slit materials. 
  • Repair minor mechanical issues and troubleshoot equipment. 
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other machinery safely. 
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment. 
  • Communicate effectively with team members and escalate issues as needed. 
  • Assist with bulk product inspections and defect removal. 
  • Participate in training and certification programs. 
  • Train new operators when necessary. 
  • Use precision tools (micrometers, calipers) for quality control. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Required Education and Experience:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Manufacturing experience preferred. 
  • Sufficient ability to maintain records and reports. 
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Working knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.). 
  • Understanding of production procedures. 
  • Analytical skills. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Teamwork and communication skills
