Production Assistant Runners, often called 'runners', are entry-level staff in film, television, or commercial production teams. Their main role is to support the crew and production office by handling various tasks such as delivering messages, collecting equipment, organizing paperwork, and helping with on-set logistics. Runners are vital for keeping the production running smoothly, as they help solve problems quickly and ensure everyone has what they need on set. This is often considered a starting position for those seeking a career in the entertainment industry, providing valuable insight and experience in different departments.

Job description

Job Title: Production Worker

Job Description

This role supports a growing animal feed production facility by performing hands-on tasks throughout the plant and warehouse. You will help keep operations running smoothly while equipment is being upgraded, handling products, maintaining inventory, and contributing to overall cleanliness and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual labor tasks throughout the plant while machines and equipment are being replaced and upgraded.
  • Stack finished products onto pallets safely and efficiently for storage and shipment.
  • Assist with general plant cleanup, including removing debris and maintaining a tidy work area.
  • Support warehouse operations, including loading and unloading materials as needed.
  • Handle materials using equipment such as pallet jacks and other material-handling tools.
  • Keep accurate inventory of products and equipment coming into and leaving the facility.
  • Operate production and packaging machinery as directed, following all safety procedures.
  • Perform general labor and assembly tasks to support production goals.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use required protective equipment while working in a dusty, non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Work scheduled shifts and overtime as needed to meet production demands.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor for extended periods.
  • Experience with materials handling in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Basic experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks.
  • Ability to learn and follow procedures for machine operation and production tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate inventory tracking.
  • Reliability in working 12-hour shifts and regular overtime.
  • Commitment to following safety protocols in an industrial environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or production setting.
  • Back ground in machine operating and production work.
  • Experience in packaging and assembly within a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort working in dusty, non-climate-controlled facilities.
  • Willingness to work both first and second shifts as needed.
  • Ability to collaborate with supervisors and team members in a fast-paced setting.

Why Work Here?

You join a growing operation with relatively new equipment and a strong focus on productivity, offering significant overtime opportunities for those who want to increase their earnings. Supervisors foster a supportive and respectful atmosphere, making it easier to learn, ask questions, and succeed. The site’s continued development provides a chance to grow your skills in a dynamic environment where hard work is recognized and rewarded.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled production plant and warehouse, which means it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, and conditions may be dusty at times. You will work around production machinery, packaging equipment, and material-handling tools such as pallet jacks and potentially forklifts. Schedules run Monday through Friday, with Saturdays as needed, and typical shifts are 12 hours: 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 2nd shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with 10–20 hours of overtime per week currently common. The dress code allows shorts in the summer, and steel-toed boots are required to ensure safety on the production floor.
