Here, you will make an impact by:Ensuring a safe working environment through formal inspections/audits, correcting unsafe behaviors, safety / crew meetings, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures and equipmentIncident investigation, problem solving and root cause analysis (EHS and quality). Ensure employees receive training as specifiedProviding effective communication to employees through daily interaction, electronic mail, etc. Provide direct supervision and development to production and/or hourly employeesPlanning and coordinating priorities, allocating work assignments, and regulating production process in order to meet specific daily production requirementsMonitoring production rates, yields, and quality of products on a daily basis and providing feedback to employees and supervisor on resultsOrganizing and reviewing changeovers with appropriate staff to minimize downtime. Addressing production issues such as scheduling, quality, run time, etc.Leading/participating in Kaizen continuous improvement sessions, making process suggestions to improve quality and reduce costs, involved with managing tier 1, 2 processesInvolved with Lean Management systems deployment, implements cost reduction programs to ensure the efficient utilization of labor, materials, and equipmentPart of Knoxville Leadership Group with responsibility for night shift. Primary plant management representative during off shiftsYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and a minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environmentORBachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Associate's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionPrevious supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentExcellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignmentsExperience participating in and/or leading Continuous Improvement projectsGood people skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectivelyDesire and experience in leading changeDemonstrated administrative and computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiencyWork location:On-site Knoxville, IASchedule expectation: Night ShiftTravel: May include up to 5% domestic travelRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
