Effectively divides time to accomplish Training Manager and Store Manager duties. 

Training Manager duties – Acts as trainer for new managers.  Hosts new managers at home store, sets an example, and provides hands-on training.  Coordinates training to ensure that the new manager is receiving all of the scheduled training.  Provides feedback to trainees throughout the training process.  Partners with Training Director and Retail Director to ensure that all are informed of trainee progress.  May act as mentor to new manager following the completion of the training program.  Is comfortable providing training and sharing training documents either in-person, via phone, and/or by utilizing online platforms.

Store Retail Manager duties - Manages the daily operations of assigned retail store. Models professional boundaries with staff, participants and public.  Builds strong working relationships. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, merchandising, and inventory. Responsible for maintaining store in an orderly fashion, rotating merchandise, and overseeing the production and pricing of merchandise. Manage inventory for maximum return on product. Operates store and plant efficiently and meets net income goals indicated on annual budget.  Supervise and train all store personnel including new Team Members. Responsible for store safety. Responsible for assuring a high level of guest and donor service. Assure Easter Seals-Goodwill policies and procedures are uniformly followed.

  • Sensitive to guest needs and wishes
  • Ability to work effectively with people with disabilities or other special needs preferred
  • Must have computer experience and be competent in internet use and a variety of computer software applications.
  • Prefer profit and loss, sales, or cost management accountability experience.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, communication, monetary, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in order to communicate with staff and guests.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
  • Applicant must be physically and mentally able to perform all job requirements.
  • Able to lift and carry 20-100 pounds with team lifting or mechanical assistance
  • Able to stand, stoop, bend, or carry for extended periods
  • Tolerance to extreme changes in temperature and humidity
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends or longer shifts if needed.
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours per week
  • Occasional overnight travel and weekend work required if applicable.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a good driving record, valid driver’s license, and proof of personal vehicle insurance.
  • All positions require the completion of a background check.  Acknowledging or having criminal convictions does not constitute an automatic bar to employment.

Experience

  • High School/Equivalent
  • 3-5 years
  • Retail or comparable management experience
