Job description

Charlotte, NC (Relocation Assistance Available)

Help Bring Innovative Products to Market Around the World

Are you an early-career scientist or regulatory professional who enjoys solving technical problems, researching regulations, and collaborating across multiple disciplines? Do you want a role where your work directly influences product development, customer success, and global compliance rather than spending your days in a laboratory?

Our client is seeking a Product Compliance professional to join the Research & Product Development team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is an opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in product stewardship, regulatory affairs, and product compliance while working alongside experienced technical leaders in a growing global organization.

This is not an entry-level position. It's an excellent opportunity for someone with some years of relevant experience who is ready to take ownership of meaningful work, develop into a subject matter expert, and make an impact across the business.

Why You’ll Love This Opportunity

  • Become a trusted technical resource supporting products sold around the world.
  • Work directly with Research & Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, and external customers.
  • Develop expertise in product compliance, regulatory affairs, and product stewardship that is highly valued across multiple industries.
  • Enjoy a role that offers variety. Every day brings new technical questions, regulations, products, and customer challenges.
  • Join a collaborative technical team where you’ll continue learning while gaining increasing independence and responsibility.
  • Build a career with a global materials manufacturer serving healthcare, hygiene, consumer, industrial, and specialty markets.
  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who are excited to make Charlotte their home.

What You’ll Do

You’ll serve as a technical resource helping ensure the company's products comply with applicable regulatory requirements while supporting both customers and internal business partners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate raw materials and product formulations for regulatory compliance.
  • Research domestic and international product regulations and customer requirements.
  • Prepare customer declarations, compliance statements, and technical documentation.
  • Support new product development by identifying regulatory considerations early in the development process.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain and evaluate technical and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate product testing with internal and external laboratories.
  • Maintain compliance databases and product documentation.
  • Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Sales, and Customer Service to resolve technical questions.
  • Assist in identifying regulatory risks and recommending practical business solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement of compliance systems and processes.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, works well independently, and takes ownership of their responsibilities.

Successful candidates will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Biology, Food Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience in Product Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Product Stewardship, Quality, Product Safety, or a closely related technical role.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • A proactive, self-directed work style and a genuine curiosity for learning.
  • Confidence working with cross-functional teams across multiple business functions.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas will be especially attractive:

  • Product Stewardship
  • Regulatory Affairs
  • Product Compliance
  • Chemical Compliance
  • Food Contact Regulations
  • REACH
  • TSCA
  • FDA regulations
  • PFAS
  • Proposition 65
  • Consumer products
  • Nonwovens
  • Polymers
  • Specialty chemicals
  • Packaging materials
  • Hygiene products
  • Healthcare products
  • Cosmetics
  • Product stewardship software such as Sphera, 3E, SAP EHS, or similar systems
  • Experience supporting global manufacturing operations
  • Additional language skills including German, French, or Spanish

Who Will Thrive Here

This position is ideal for someone who:

  • Is naturally curious and enjoys figuring out complex technical questions.
  • Doesn’t wait to be told what to do and takes initiative.
  • Is comfortable making informed decisions and knowing when to seek guidance.
  • Enjoys working with people across many different departments.
  • Wants to become a recognized technical expert rather than move immediately into people management.
  • Is looking for a long-term career path in regulatory affairs, product stewardship, and global product compliance.

If you’re looking for an opportunity where you’ll continue learning, take on meaningful responsibility, and help ensure innovative products meet global regulatory requirements, we’d love to hear from you.
