Job description

Quanex is looking for a Quality Manager to join our team located in Owatonna, Minnesota.

This position plays a vital role in the development, refinement, and implementation of the quality system and tools to ensure production quality and customer satisfaction. This role will lead a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians to flow down acceptance criteria, establish testing protocols, document & control procedures, collect & analyze data, develop & maintain quality metrics; drive root cause analysis of product and process defects, develop containment, corrective, and preventive actions.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Provide hands-on management of the elements of the Quality Management System (QMS), to include quality action plans, corrective actions, supplier quality management, customer complaints, standard work, audit processes, standard procedures, test methods, and process controls.
  • Work with the production team to ensure thorough and timely dispositions of non-conforming material to maintain continuity of production and containment of problems before they reach the customer.
  • Leader of the plant quality pillar and ensuring relevant training and education of the team members. Lead efforts toward continuous quality improvement initiatives within the plant.
  • Lead the team to perform detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with different teams to ensure seamless operations and improve processes.
  • Supervise inspectors, technicians, and other staff and regularly provide guidance and/or feedback.

Your Credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience.
  • 5-7 years of quality experience, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Power BI and Power Automate as well as SAP S4/Hanna System is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Flexibility in schedule to support multiple shifts.

The annual salary range for this position is $95K - $115K w/ bonus potential.
