Job Summary
We are seeking a Product Manager - Aluminum Plate to lead and grow our aluminum plate business across North America. This is a remote role with significant travel, offering the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams while influencing strategy, execution, and performance.

Preferred metros include: Atlanta, GA • Chicago, IL • Detroit, MI • Cleveland, OH • Cincinnati, OH • Grand Rapids, MI
Home Base: Southfield, MI (HQ) or other listed locations above.
Travel: 50-75% (U.S. & Canada)

This role is ideal for a hands-on, relationship-driven leader who enjoys being in the business, partnering with teams, and driving measurable results.
Compensation
  • Base Salary: $125,000+ (competitive and experience-based)

Key Responsibilities
Operations
  • Develop a strong understanding of aluminum plate capabilities and processing workflows
  • Analyze operational processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Collect and analyze performance data to inform optimization strategies
  • Select, motivate, and support team members through collaboration and training
  • Track the effectiveness of implemented changes and adjust as needed

Sales & Market Development
  • Partner with Sales to support solution selling for aluminum plate products
  • Build strong relationships across the sales organization to promote product alignment
  • Identify and present solution-based opportunities to customers
  • Develop and execute Sales and Marketing plans for the aluminum plate product line
  • Support quoting activity and sales contracts
  • Identify and pursue potential aluminum plate customers

Supply Chain
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Director, Supply Chain, and supplier partners
  • Manage inventory levels to meet stated objectives
  • Maintain an understanding of the supply base, contracts, and general cost structures

Leadership & Performance
  • Drive a Safety-First culture across all plate processing activities
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
    • Total pounds sold
    • Items per man hour
    • Plate pounds per man hour
    • Scrap percentage
    • Packaging cost per pound
    • Tooling costs
    • Daily backlog performance
    • On-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery
  • Influence leaders and teams to adopt process and performance improvements
  • Present results and insights across the organization
  • Communicate changes clearly, manage resistance, and support smooth implementation

Required Qualifications
  • Safety-First mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, operations, purchasing, or management
  • Experience with plate sawing equipment and associated processing equipment
  • Strong relationship-building and team leadership skills across regions
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills to support data-driven decisions
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw actionable conclusions
  • Proven experience planning and executing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of KPIs, business operations, and financial impacts
  • Ability to travel 50-75% throughout the U.S. and Canada
